The Rrrs
The Rrrs

Open wide and say Rrrr

Meet our Band of the Month for March 2006. The Rrrs play happy, fun alternative pop laced with sarcasm, paranoia and sex.

The Rrrs are a female fronted quartet who formed in November 2004 at the University of Warwick.

Formally known as Stari and The Mourning Woods and Multiskins, the group play happy, fun alternative pop laced with sarcasm, paranoia and sex.

The Rrrs appeared on Vic Minett's show The Guide on BBC Coventry & Warwickshire. They had a chat with Vic and played two songs live in session. Click the link below to have a listen

After going through more drummers than Spinal Tap, they've settled on a lineup and are poised to conquer the world - starting in Coventry of course.

Lineup

Rowan Gifford - Lead Guitar
Ezra Carcosa - Vocals/Guitar
Matt Peet - Drums
Les Woods - Bass

Fronting the band is rockstar in training Ezra Carcosa - AKA Sharliza R, who describes herself as, "an hourglass, guitar-wielding Singaporean woman-child." She plays rhythm guitar and writes the songs.

On guitar is Rowan Gifford, who also plays bass in our February band of the month Jaffa Rose. The band is completed by the rhythm section of Matt Peet on drums and the master of the 'cool but bored' style, Les Woods on bass.

The Rrrs gig regularly around Coventry and Warwickshire and are constantly in the process of refining their sound.

They've just recorded their debut EP entitled Fly and you can here the lead track Fly (I Feel Great) below.
