He and his fellow students from Henley College - Dean Chapman, Mark Dyde, Lee Gibson, Tracey Ham, Hardeep Kanth, and Sean McDonnell – are all following a route into Creative Studies for students with learning difficulties and disabilities. They’re putting on an exhibition of their work in the Glass Gallery, Earl Street, Coventry, from March 22nd to April 2nd Neelum’s CLL art teacher and curator of the exhibition, Frieda van de Poll, said "Neelum has a pure sense of colour and his enthusiasm for painting is very appealing. His work gives us an insight into his world: friends, pets, favourite TV characters and music – all depicted with an infectious sense of humour”. | "Neelum has a pure sense of colour and his enthusiasm for painting is very appealing" | | Frieda van der Poll, exhibition curator |

For 40 year old Neelum, who moved to Coventry in 2003, following the death of his mother, no problem seems insurmountable, and his favourite phrase "I can do that - easy" has been given an added dimension in his recently acquired skill - swimming. Melanie Ahearn, Neelum’s CLL dance teacher, commented that he makes an invaluable contribution to the workshop with his natural talent for dance. ”Neelum is a creative and expressive dancer who is interactive and spontaneous within the dance group”! |
