Leam'n'Aid Festival

Our talented musicians keep on pulling out all of the stops when it comes to raising money for the victims of the Asian Tsunami disaster that struck on Boxing Day 2004.

The cream of Leamington’s music scene and beyond will be performing onstage in a twelve hour marathon gig on Saturday, 5 February. The concert is the first part of a two day event at Robbins Well called Leam’n’Aid Weekend Festival which also features an open mic, quiz, comedians and charity raffle the following day.

Topping the bill at the Leamington pub are internationally acclaimed Budapest, Glastonbury highlights Wish as well as a host of other local artists including a some previously featured bands in the shape of Kingtide, Slybob and Lowdrive.

The event is the brainchild of indie-rockers Kingtide after band members were horrified at the images they were witnessing in the aftermath of the tsunami.

Paul Ryan from the band said: “The reponse has been just amazing, we have so many volunteers and bands giving up their time for free to make this work and it’s all down to community spirit. Those horrible images of the tsunami will stay with everyone for a long time to come and I think we’re all just glad that we can do something positive that could really make a difference to the victims”.

The number of acts confirmed at the moment is 26 and the Saturday session will run from 1pm through until 1am.

Tickets cost three pounds and can be purchased on the door at Robbins Well which is located on Victoria Terrace in Leamington.
