The event is the brainchild of indie-rockers Kingtide after band members were horrified at the images they were witnessing in the aftermath of the tsunami. Paul Ryan from the band said: “The reponse has been just amazing, we have so many volunteers and bands giving up their time for free to make this work and it’s all down to community spirit. Those horrible images of the tsunami will stay with everyone for a long time to come and I think we’re all just glad that we can do something positive that could really make a difference to the victims”. The number of acts confirmed at the moment is 26 and the Saturday session will run from 1pm through until 1am. Tickets cost three pounds and can be purchased on the door at Robbins Well which is located on Victoria Terrace in Leamington. |
