The BBC WM Christmas Toy Appeal is now in it's 20th year and this year, you can begin handing over your presents from Saturday, 20 November. Once more we're asking you to help us collect new toys and gifts for boys and girls aged from 0 to 16 years who otherwise would be going without. Your toys will then be distributed to youngsters throughout Coventry, Warwickshire and the West Midlands, with the help of local social services. Last year you donated more than 120,000 gifts to the Appeal, which went to tens of thousands of youngsters who would otherwise receive no presents at Christmas. However, as always, we want to make this year even better than last! Games, books, CD's, jewellery, computer games..anything that would make a suitable gift will be welcomed with open arms. Once more we''ve got the support of Express Daires, Greggs bakeries and Rupert the Fish in Coventry Market, to act as permanent collection points for your toys. Coventry City Football Club are backing us too and we''ll be collecting from outside the Sky Blues Ground on 27 November. Tune into BBC WM to find out about the various Outside Broadcasts that will be taking place on Bob Brolly's Afternoon Show, where you can meet him and drop off your donations. This year the BBC WM Christmas Appeal runs until 12 December and we're looking forward to receiving your donations up until then. Please give whatever you can. It really, really makes a difference to so many children. |
