Chris
Hore's association with Delabole started on the day he was born.
He
may have travelled the world as a photographer with the Royal Navy
but his heart remained in the north Cornwall village where his ancestors
were raised before him.

"Growing
up in the village was great fun," says Chris. "It wasn't like it
is for today's youngsters. We used to disappear off for the day
down the woods and even in the quarry."
Chris
may have seen various continents in the navy but returning to Cornwall
on leave was always a special time.
"There
was nothing better than coming back on the train into Cornwall and
knowing you are home," he smiles.

Delabole
village is situated approximately 1 mile inland on the north coast
of Cornwall in the United Kingdom approximately15 miles north of
Bodmin and 15 miles west of Launceston.
The
nearby countryside includes the town of Camelford and the north
Cornwall villages of Tintagel, Boscastle and Port Isaac.
Chris
now uses his love and knowledge of Delabole to sell the village
to the rest of the world.

He
set up www.delabole.com
for the millennium. It started as a small website and has rapidly
grown.
"I
wanted to put something into a village that had given me so much,"
says Chris. "I think a lot of people were really pleased about having
a website for the village, but not many people understood what it
was about. I spent time explaining to villagers what it was about
and how Delabole would hit the world wide web."
The
website has many different sections in it which capture the essence
of village life in Delabole. You can see pictures of several events
of recent times and hear about the various busy groups that live
in the village.
