A bonanza
of 60s legends are coming to The Hall For Cornwall in Truro on Friday
5th December.
60s
Gold marks its 40th anniversary tour this year, celebrating the
enduring popularity of 60s music with the original Brit pop stars
who changed the sound of pop for all time.
It
is your opportunity to hear all the classic hits performed live,
including 'Wild Thing', 'Needles and Pins', 'I’m
Into Something Good', 'Hold Me', 'Tossing and Turning'
and many more.
The
Troggs have always been remembered for the 60s anthem 'Wild
Thing', but it is just one of their many UK hits; 'With A
Girl Like You', 'I Can't Control Myself', and of course
'Love Is All Around'. They
all followed in rapid succession to give The Troggs world-wide acclaim.

| The
Troggs are they were in the 60s |
Dubbed
by many as the 'first British punk band' they have continued playing
in their own uncompromising style of good basic rock music. Never
strangers to controversy, many of their records were considered
by the 'powers that be' too suggestive for the masses, and they
consequently banned them. How anybody could judge Reg Presley's
tongue-in-cheek delivery to be dangerous to the morals of the young
is hard to believe.
The
Troggs still boast two founder members - with the perpetual Reg
Presley fronting the band, and Chris Britton on lead guitar. They
are now joined by Pete Lucas on bass and Dave Maggs on drums. Their
popularity has never waned and they are still in great demand both
in the UK and the rest of Europe, where they regularly headline
festivals attracting thousands of fans.
Their
appeal hold no age barriers, fans ranging from the stalwarts who
have supported them throughout the years to the many new fans from
the younger generation.
Mike
Pender's Searchers have literally traveled the world performing
in Australia, U.S.A. Holland, Germany, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark,
The United Arab Emirates as well as the length and breadth of Britain.

| Mike
Pender's Searchers |
In
1994 they were the very first 60's band to be invited to play on
board the QE2 as part of the world famous liner's 25th anniversary
celebrations. Despite the fact that Mike Pender has remained loyal
to his musical roots, he still lives in Liverpool. He is well aware
that Mike Pender's Searchers have to present a show that is also
part of the 21st Century.
Mike
was one of the original Searchers with many hits to his name including
'Needles & Pins' and 'When You Walk In the Room'.
Herman's
Hermits are one of the most successful groups throughout the
world. From their beginning in Manchester, England, on April 1st
1964, the band has chalked up over 23 hit singles, 10 hit albums,
3 major movies and countless television shows and concerts tours
all over the world - up to date they have total record sales of
over 60 million.
Since
1971 and the departure of Peter Noone to pursue a solo career in
the entertainment business, the group has never stopped. Original
member Barry (the Bean) Whitwam has guided the band from strength
to strength into one of the hardest working acts in the business
- they still average more than 200 one-night stands per year - and
reckon they maintain their stamina by having an amazing sense of
humour.
'I'm
into something good', 'Sentimental Friend', 'No milk
today', and 'Sihouettes' are just a few of the bands
famous hits.
Their
touring schedule takes them to Germany, Belgium, Holland, the Scandinavian
countries, the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and New Zealand on a regular
basis, and they still find time to perform in their home country
the United Kingdom, packing in the audiences at every venue and
delighting them with their solid musicianship, vocal ability and
dynamic stage presence.
PJ
Proby was known for his exhausting visional stage performances
and stunning voice. It was one of these performances in London that
Proby burst out of his skin tight velvet bellbottoms during his
act.
Two
days later the same thing again happened, the audiences were wild
with excitement.
However
the people in charge of the music scene at that time were less enthusiastic.
PJ found himself banned from all theatres in Great Britain and not
allowed to perform his recordings on the B.B.C. or A.T.V. television
stations.
His
recording of 'Maria' from 'West Side Story' was regarded
along with 'Somewhere' as two of the best and most exciting
versions ever and are still the two of the most requested songs.

| The
Ivy League today |
The
Ivy League first had their taste of pop chart success in the
mid 1960s. Since then the band has gone from strength to strength.
Jon
Brennan, Dave Buckley and Mike Brice (Guitar, Vocals) remain with
the band to this day. 'Tossing & Turning', 'Funny How
Love Can Be' and 'That's Why I'm Crying' are just some
of the hits. For a time Cornwall's own Rocky Ball (then known as
Bev Moss) played with The Ivy League.
Jon,
Dave and Mike each having over 35 years experience in show business,
ensure you can always be guaranteed a high quality professional
show.
