Tony
Hadley's voice has graced some of the best love songs of all time
including 'True' and 'Through The Barricades'. Hadley was lead singer
with New Romantics Band Spandau Ballet.

Evolving
from a school group, The Makers, the band formed in 1979 with a
line-up comprising Gary Kemp, his brother Martin Kemp, Tony Hadley,
John Keeble, and Steve Norman.
Spandau
Ballet originally came to prominence as part of the new romantic
scene revolving around a handful of fashionable London clubs.
During
early 1980, they were filmed for a television documentary and soon
after licensed their label through Chrysalis Records. Their powerful
debut, the harrowing 'To Cut A Long Story Short' reached the UK
Top 5.
With
their kilts and synthesizers, it was easy to assume that the band
were just part of a passing fashion.
The
insistent "Chant Number 1 (I Don't Need This Pressure On)" revealed
a more interesting soul/funk direction, complete with added brass
and a new image.
By
1983, the band had begun to pursue a more straightforward pop direction
and pushed their lead singer as a junior Frank Sinatra.

The
new approach was demonstrated most forcibly on the irresistibly
melodic 'True', which topped the UK charts for several weeks. The
album of the same name repeated the feat, while the follow-up 'Gold'
reached number 2.
More
recently Tony Hadley has been seen singing to the crowd in the hit
TV show 'Reborn In The USA' along with Peter Cox.
Peter
met Richard Drummie in 1982 but it was in 1985 when Go West finally
cracked the charts, with debut single We Close Our Eyes reaching
number four in the UK and reaching the US Top Ten.

Their
self-titled debut album sold 1.5 million copies around the world
and established the band as one of the biggest bands of the 80s,
with hits like Call Me, Goodbye Girl and Don’t Look Down bringing
them more success.
Their
classic single The King of Wishful Thinking, which appeared on the
soundtrack of the ultimate chick-flick Pretty Woman, also helped
make sure the band would be one of the most successful UK bands
in the US charts during the 1980s.
Following
their huge success on the TV series “Reborn in the USA” and their
sell-out date at Shepherds Bush Empire, Tony Hadley & Peter Cox
return to Hall for Cornwall for one night only. The evening will
feature Tony and Peter performing some of their bestknown material;
the 80s hits, solo material, duets and songs from “Reborn in the
USA”.
