Theatre and ArtsYou are in: Cornwall > Entertainment > Theatre and Arts > Insane ![]() InsaneMiss Dee went along to the opening night of Bounce Street Dance Company’s Insane In The Brain, a street dance version of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, to see what all the fuss was about. Read her review... "This street dance version of ‘One Flew Over A Cuckoo’s Nest’ was innovative and professional. All the unison dances were tightly performed and electric in their presentation. The audience was on the edge of their seats. My personal favourites had to be the Intro, Dark Light and Electric Shock scenes, which were extremely powerful. ![]() Bounce - Insane In The Brain "The opening dance immediately caught you with Bounce’s highly charged choreography and performance, working with the double masked costume. It was a fantastic way to set up a visual display of psychosis. "Again in the Dark Light scene, the tight performances really enhanced this beautifully observed choreography about night time troubles on a hospital ward for the insane. "My only reservation was in the Day Room scene, where the characters talked. Unfortunately although the dancers projection was excellent, the vocal character work was not strong enough to carry out this scene. I felt it was unnecessary, as the physical characters portrayed through dance were excellent. This scene also stood out as the speaking was not repeated anywhere else. "Bounce’s use of music was also superb. An eclectic mix of genres, aptly used. "There was a delightful use of set, a sloping back wall in the Electric Shock scene. Thank you Hall For Cornwall for bringing such high quality dance to Cornwall."
