This included littering picking, painting over graffiti, monitoring the speed of motorists in the village they live and even helping to design play equipment.

The school children from the Truro area have been rewarded with dance lessons at Richard Lander School in a workshop taught by Flava, a dance group from Penzance who appeared on Britain's Got Talent in 2008.

A number of students from Truro's secondary schools also came along to the workshop as a reward for their achievements at school.

The children, aged between 6-sixteen were split into three groups and learnt different dance styles and at the end of the day performed in front of friends and family.

The workshop - which was called 'The B'Inspired Dance and Performance Workshop' was not only set up to say thank you to the children, but gave the youngsters a chance to learn how to work together and build up their confidence.

The Community Safety Sergeant, Jerry Mitchell said: "It is great to be able to reward these outstanding young people for all their hard work. They have done a fantastic job at cleaning up the area and we appreciate everything they have done."
