Theatre and ArtsYou are in: Cornwall > Entertainment > Theatre and Arts > Art For All ![]() Art For AllMore than a hundred artists across Cornwall are throwing open their studios to the public this weekend as part of a scheme designed to get people of all ages interested in art. The Open Studios Scheme is now in its 5th year and is bigger than ever. From potters and painters to sculptors and photographers, there are more than 130 artists throwing open their doors from this weekend (23rd-31st May). ![]() Pottery by Paul Jackson Those involved spread right across the county, in the East at Kingsand near Torpoint, on the north coast, St Minver near Wadebridge and down west in St Keverne and Sennen, and all the places in between. They work in a wide variety of venues, like historic, beachside studios and remote cottages and chapels, all of which are open to the public over the coming days. The scheme is run by Creative Skills, an agency set up with European Convergence Funding to help people in the creative industries in Cornwall to develop their skills and businesses. ![]() Lesley Plumridge, Bird With Flower Members of the public will not only be able to watch artists at work, some studios will also be offering workshops and taster sessions for people to have a go at throwing a pot a printing on silk. A catalogue has been published which is arranged geographically so each artist is easy to find. This year Open Studios is being supported by Arts Council England's FEAST programme which aims to touch and inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to generate a whole new wave of creativity across Cornwall.
