Parts of the A30 closed between Bodmin and Okehampton, as well as the A386 between Sourton Cross and Tavistock. See our galleries showing the snow fall. The snow started to fall on the Isles of Scilly and the North Coast of Cornwall early on Monday 2 February 2009. By Tuesday morning all of Cornwall was covered. Some areas were reporting as much as ten centimetres of snow. Later in the week Launceston, Bude and Camelford were all affected by further heavy snowfall. Throughout the week schools in Cornwall were affected by the bad weather, and there were numerous accidents and travel disruption. Both County Highways and the Highways Agency were working through the night during the snowy week to grit the main roads, although many people found it impossible to leave their villages. Take a look back at the winter blizzards in Cornwall during the first week of February 2009. Enjoy more than 400 pictures in our galleries below.
