DJ of the Year 2007 - Charlie G
DJ of the Year
The popular competition to find Cornwall's top DJ of the Year is returning. Previous years have seen record voting to support local DJs & Producers. DJ Kristoff won the 2006 competition. Charlie G took the title last year - who will it be this year?
Throughout December clubbers will be able to vote for their favourite DJ in Cornwall. A winner will be announced within the first week of January. The awards are organised by Littlesouth.com run by Cornish DJ Matt Exelby.
Along with the all important votes, the following information is also taken into consideration: Popularity of Littlesouth podcast episodes, DJ profile page hits and what the DJ has given back to the region's clubscene.
Last year alone more than 8000 clubbers voiced their opinion. The clear winner in 2008 was a young DJ who has been fillingCornish dancefloors for many years, Charlie G.
"Chuffed to bits, the perfect end to an amazing year for me, and a great way to start 2008," said Charlie at the time.
"I was really surprised and over-whelmed with the number of votes. It's also wicked to see the strength of the South West club scene and the huge loyal support from the clubbers."
Charlie G has rapidly established himself as a successful DJ, Producer, Label Manager, Promoter and even has his very own slot in the UK's number one dance music magazine, iDJ.
Charlie is already a veteran of the clubbing scene, having started his sets at just 15-years-old.
Since then he has developed his own unique style, ranging from mind blowing Tech Trance and Hard Dance to chunky Funky Electro.
Charlie G has played alongside every leading name in the Hard Dance and Trance world such as Yoji Biomehanika, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell, Brandon Block, Benny Benassi, Tidy Boys, Lisa Lashes, Anne Savage, Mark EG to name just a few.
