Surveys show that young people in Britain spend a very small part of their free time with their families and the majority with their peer group. What do they do? Where do they go? As part of the BBC's Wired Generation series we made a film with Dan.
Dan is 19 and he's been drinking since the age of 16. Drinking is a huge part of youth culture in Cornwall. He says it's the things young people are most looking forward to is passing their driving test and having that first legal drink at 18.
In Dan's film he looks at how the surfing, pubs and clubs provide a social infrastructure to him and his friends. They tend to go out a lot, on a Friday they finish work at four or five and have a pint then go on to have a few more.
One of the goals at the end of the night is to find a girl for sex. Dan says girls are just the same. They work hard and play hard. See his Video Nation film.
