It shows the Hollywood A-List star in his colourful outfit for the film Alice in Wonderland. Scenes for the Disney production were filmed in the county. ![]() The latest production of Alice in Wonderland is not due to be released until 2010 but with a list of stars appearing it's no wonder the publicity wheels have already started to turn. As well as Depp, the movie also stars Helena Bonham Carter as the Red Queen, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Little Britain's Matt Lucas as Tweedledum and Tweedledee. Antony House near Torpoint was chosen as a filming location for the Disney production. The house, garden and the Woodland Garden which is run by the Carew Pole Garden Trust, was closed to the public from Monday 1 September until Tuesday 14 October. Filming took place for two weeks in September, but the closure lasted for six weeks to allow for pre and post filming work. The county's links with film and television go back to the 1930s when Jamaica Inn was shot at Bolventor. During the '70s Cornwall was rarely off the small screen with the serialisation of Poldark, based the novels of Winston Graham. In recent years Doc Martin, Wycliffe, Wild West, and The Camomile Lawn have all been filmed in the county. Ex-Neighbours star Jason Donovan and former EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon starred in a soap opera about surfing in Cornwall. They played ex-lovers in Echo Beach, set in a fictional Cornish coastal resort called Polnarren.
