Andy Cummins is a volunteer for Surfers Against Sewage. He helped organise a UK wide beach clean up tour to try and combat the problem of marine litter. As part of BBC Cornwall's Marinewatch week, see his video nation film.
The Surfers Against Sewage beach clean up tour went round the beaches of the UK in a bid to help clean up marine litter which according to the SAS is a very real and constant problem.
Beach clean up at Porthtowan beach
The clean up started off at Porthtowan in Cornwall and the 60 or so volunteers found kilos upon kilos of marine litter.
SAS are trying to educate people into thinking before they flush as a lot of the litter that ends up on our beaches is plastics such as cotton buds, flushed down the loo.
Andy tells us more about the problem in his video nation film.
