Santa comes to Truro

Santa's in Truro

Now, Dasher! Now, Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen! On, Comet! On Cupid! on, Donner and Blitzen! Santa and his six Cairngorm reindeer arrive in Truro to switch on the Christmas Lights. See the photos.

A golden opportunity to see Santa and his reindeer was given to the shoppers of Truro when Santa and his reindeer flew in to Truro for the switch on of the Christmas lights.

All the way from in Aviemore, Scotland, six Cairngorm reindeer rode along with Father Christmas on his sleigh, to the delight of onlookers in Victoria Square.

Santa greeted the crowds and asked them whether they had written their Christmas lists and if they hadn't they better be quick as time was running out.

"As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky, So up to the house-top the coursers they flew, With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too...." Excerpt from The Night Before Christmas by Clement Clarke Moore.
