Cotehele to Metherell

See a short film from the latest BBC Radio Cornwall listeners’ walk which was a 5-mile ramble from Cotehele to Metherell on Wednesday 19 September.

The walk, organised by Caradon District Council, was led by the National Trust, local history and geological experts.

Taking in Cotehele Wood and the industrial archaeological remains of Dansecombe Valley Mine and the East Cornwall Mineral Railway.

Lanhydrock Autumn Railway Ramble

Rambling into autumn, BBC Radio Cornwall and Caradon Council’s October guided ramble will be a real treat.

In partnership with the National Trust and the Bodmin and Wenford Steam Railway, the forthcoming ramble invites both experienced and would-be walkers alike to start with morning coffee at Bodmin Railway Station’s Buffet before boarding a steam train to Lanhydrock at 12.10pm on Wednesday 17th October.

Listeners walk

Alighting at Bodmin Parkway, Matt Lewis, Lanhydrock’s Area Warden, will be your tour guide leading walkers along the old carriage road and woodland gardens to Lanhydrock House arriving in time for lunch at the Café.

Then it’s a gentle ramble back to Bodmin Parkway to catch the train back to Bodmin. For further details of this and other walks, contact Pat Gormley on 01579 348749

Meeting Place: Bodmin Central Railway Station, Wednesday 17 October at 12pm – Free Parking and dogs on leads welcome. Walkers bring there own lunch.
