The Cornish Pirates will be determined to return to their winning ways on Sunday 20 January after losing their EDF Energy Trophy game last weekend. The Pirates are playing on home soil at the Recreation Ground in Camborne on Sunday when they face Newbury. It's been a difficult week off the pitch for the Cornish Pirates. On Monday it was announced that the President of the Cornish Pirates Dickie Evans had resigned. He blamed the unremitting attacks against him and the Pirates over their success. Then later in the week the former chairman of Penzance and Newlyn RFC said he would stand for election as the new President of the Cornish Pirates. Robin Turner resigned from his position earlier this week.
