On Thursday 30 August BBC Radio Cornwall held a fire emergency cover debate as part of the Lunchtime Phone In. Many questions were sent in to the BBC Cornwall website. Hear the full debate on this page...

On Thursday 30 August  there were two BBC debates staged discussing the controversial issue of emergency fire cover in Cornwall.

Both the Lunchtime Phone In with Martin Bailie, and BBC Spotlight broadcast the views of experts and local people.

It follows the fire at the Penhallow Hotel in Newquay which tragically claimed three lives.

In the days that followed a number of questions have been raised about the future of the fire service.
