The characters have been introduced to help parents and children enjoy bedtime reading together.

Max and Lara are two young space travellers who meet strange and funny friends during their adventure. The book, that is free to parents, is more than just a reading experiences. There are games to play, activities to take part in, and stickers to collect and add to the story.

RaW is the BBC’s biggest ever campaign that aims to help adults across the UK read and write better.

RaW is for everyone (did you know there are 12 million adults in the UK who struggle with reading and writing)? However, there is a special focus on families.
