Updated Tuesday 7 November Each year several events are organised in Cornwall to fundraise for the BBC's Children In Need Appeal. Here are some of the planned events for Friday 17 November 2006 that have come in so far. Use our form at the bottom of this page to let us know about your plans: Camborne Young parents from a self support group in Camborne will be putting on the glitz on Fridat 17 November to raise money for Children In Need. Members of Funky Friends will be donning the top fashions donated by local stores in aid of the BBC charity at Camborne's Corn Exchange at 7.30pm on Children In Need night. Tickets are priced at £3 each and available from Trevu Children's Centre and the Corn Exchange nightclub. Fowey At Fowey Community College there will be a Barn dance when the takings from the star prize raffle will be donated to Children in Need. The Barn dance will be held in the main hall of Fowey Community College on Friday 17 November at 7.30. Tickets priced £4.00 adults and £2.00 under 16. Helston Kennack Pottery will be holding Clay Creation and Pottery Painting sessions on Saturday 11 November between 10.30am-5pm and Sunday 12 November from 10.30am-4 pm. All studio fees will go to Children In Need. Kennack Pottery is committed to Arts and Health. Creativity is actually good for you. Come and MAKE IT FOR CHILDREN IN NEED. For more information please call 01326 290592. The two day event will also have a raffle. All raffle proceeds to CIN. Launceston There is a fun concert and buffet at Launceston Central Methodist Church. Admission will be £3.00. It is a concert by Under 18's to raise money for C-I-N with the emphasis on having a fun evening to raise as much as possible. Marazion The Marazion Angling Club is holding a sponsored fishing day at their club in Little Mill Lane, St Erth, Hayle, on 18 November in aid of Children In Need. Newquay The Newquay Lions are holding a major fundraiser for Children In Need on Friday 17 November. The evening is being held at the town's Barrowfields Hotel. There will be a charity casino, followed by live entertainment by 5ive * Productions. The Biz will be singing a selection of classical songs from the musicals. Cornwall's girl band duo Siren will also be performing, along with a disco. During the evening there will be a raffle and an auction. A signed limited edition print from Cornwall's wildlife artists Dick Twinney will be up for grabs in the auction. Mr Twinney will also be showing his gallery through the day and evening of the 17 November. The artist has pledged to donat a percentage of his sales on the day to the appeal. Dick has also given BBC Radio Cornwall a signed limited edition print of his latest work to be auctioned for the appeal. Tickets for the night are available by calling 07817 714 047. Special overnight rates are available on the night at the Barrowfields. Porthleven Local people have dug out their favourite recipes for a special Children In Need cookery book. The tasty sounding book is available now at Tolls' Newsagents in Porthleven. Quintrell Downs There will be an all-day darts marathon and loads more planned at The Willows Pub, Kestle Mill, Quintrell Downs. The enthusiastic crowd raised £500 last year! St Austell Tregonissey Hall is the venue on Children In Need night for fancy dress, raffles, and an auction. There will also be flower arranging by a localflorist, facepainting, a brass band quartet, and a local band called Black Knights ending the evening. Many local business in St Austell have supported the evening with raffle prizes and auction items. The Eden Project will be the evening base for the BBC in the Southwest. Both BBC Spotlight, and Duncan Warren's evening show will be coming from there. So do turn up and join in the fun! Polkyth Leisure Centre in St Austell will be the venue for Rebecca Ham and her fundraising for Pudsey. Rebecca and nine other ladies will be doing a sponsored 20 mile row on Children In Need night on Friday 17 November. They will be rowing for dosh between 7-9pm. St Stephen, near St Austell There will be charity Circuit Training at Brannel Sports Centre, Brannel School, Rectory Road, St Stephens on Monday 13 November. This will take place between 8.15pm - 9.15pm. All abilities are welcome. The session costs £2.50 with all proceeds going to Children In Need. Trevone There are lots of events taking place at Well Parc Hotel in Trevone for Children In Need. Here's the list: Saturday 11 November - Three course meal with professional cabaret act, massive auction (including hot air balloon rides, mountain bike, gallon of whisky, kitchen equipment etc) Meal starts 7.00pm - dress to impress, doors open to everybody else to come and party and bid from 10.00pm. Sunday 12 November - Children's Teddy Bear picnic from 2.00-6.00pm for all children (mainly from ages 3-11) and all under 5's must be accompanied by an adult. £4.50 pre ordered tickets, £5.50 on the door including food. Monday 13 November A clairvoyant demonstration from 7.30-9.30 pm £1.00 entry followed by a comedy hypnotist, great evening of fun and entertainment, huge raffle on the night. Tuesday 14 November Friendly quiz 8.30 start, teams of four with a charge of £1.00 per person. Thursday 16 November - Euchre competition, £2.00 per person, fines for euchres & 4 shouts, lots of fun. Friday 17 November - Huge Line Dance in the marquee - £2.50 per person, beginners from 7.00, everybody welcome, intermediates & advanced from 8.30pm. Saturday 18 November - Live music with 'Madrips' local band, 'bucking bronco', challenge the lifeboat crew & the 'Coyotee Ugly' bar hour. This is all at the Well Parc hotel, Trevone, Padstow.
