BBC Radio Cornwall's Laurence Reed is launching an appeal to help the RSPCA re-home their rescue animals. Find out how you can help, and meet our latest pet, Cooper the rabbit. Over the coming months BBC Radio Cornwall's Laurence Reed, and his producer Victoria Gould, are on a mission. The team want to re-home as many pets as possible. Every fortnight the Lunchtime phone in on BBC Radio Cornwall will have a 'featured pet'. The programme will follow the animal's progress from the initial appeal, through the home-checks, and then the final stage, being housed with its new owners.

It may be hamsters, cats, or dogs. The RSPCA Animal Centre always has many animals it needs to place in new homes. Laurence hopes that BBC Radio Cornwall listeners will be able to reduce the number of unwanted pets. Cooper is a very handsome adult, neutered male lion haired rabbit. He's very cute and fluffy and quite happy to pose for the camera. He will require lots of regular grooming, which he quite enjoys and is easy to handle. He loves fuss and attention, but needs to be held nice & firmly to make him feel secure. Cooper is suitable to re-homed with a neutered female rabbit for company and children five years old and over. He will need a suitably sized hutch and run for his home. If you would like more information about Cooper, and if you could welcome him into your home, then call Cornwall's RSPCA Animal Centre on 01637 881455. The William and Patricia Venton RSPCA Animal Centre is based at Higher Quoit in St Columb. It is open 11am-4pm (but closed on Wednesday). Keep listening to Laurence Reed on BBC Radio Cornwall each weekday from midday for information about all the pets featured. More pictures and information about the pets can be found here on the BBC Cornwall website. |
