The piglets featured on BBC Breakfast on Tuesday 10 October and now hundreds are accessing the webcam to see the new arrivals. Scroll down for the link to view the webcam. Please note due to the overwhelming popularity you may find it difficult to access the camera during office hours, but keep trying, it's well worth the wait! Saltash.net Community School set up a live webcam in April to keep a 24-hour watch on their adopted pig, Delores, a Durok Cross-bred sow, who lives in the school's animal enclosure. Delores gave birth to 12 little piglets on Wednesday 29 March at 3am. This was Delores' first farrowing and the webcam allowed people around the world to view her offspring. There was massive interest and Delores and her piglets were featured on various TV and radio stations and included in many newspaper reports. Well, we are delighted to tell you that Delores is pregnant once again and has returned to the animal enclosure. The webcam is now live so you can keep track of her progress and watch her through second pregnancy. She is due to farrow in early October, so keep watching... Our thanks to Saltash.net Community School for allowing us to link to their webcam on the BBC Cornwall website. |
