Other acts include merging singer Lou Rhodes (formerly of Lamb) and her band followed by blues band The Hamsters. The top African band Osibisa will kick off the festival supported by west country favourites Zambula. Award-winning Folk acts Chris Wood and Karine Polwart combine and UK Jazz Funk outfit The James Taylor Quartet will perform supported by singer/songwriter Nick Harper and Europe’s top jazz band The Big Chris Barber Band.

The Guild hall programme climaxes with the Festival Ball featuring 10-piece Salsa band Merengada plus Tempo da Festa. There is a wide-ranging programme of Art and Literature events, with Open Studios including Talks on Tony O’Malley, Art About St Ives, Porthmeor Studios, Jeanne Du Maurier, Bernard Leach, Alfred Wallis, W.S. Graham and Early St Ives Art. Germaine Greer and Film/TV actor Dudley Sutton will also be giving talks at the festival. There will also be special exhibitions around the town, a mini Film Festival at The Royal Cinema and a full programme of events at the Arts Club, The Western Hotel, The Sheaf of Wheat and The Lifeboat Inn.
