Rachel hails from Wales but now makes Cornwall her home. It's her love of Celtic countries and their music which comes through in all her recordings and performances. First and foremost she is known as an outstanding singer of contemporary and traditional material but Rachel is also an accomplished harpist.

Rachel and her Welsh harp.

Rachel's harp travels with her everywhere. It's a traditional Welsh harp and was handmade in the village where she was born.

In 2000 Rachel travelled to Eire with her band Common Ground to represent Cornwall in the Pan Celtic Song Festival in Tralee. They won the competition with their entry Tir Kemmyn - an upbeat contemporary song in the Cornish language - with the highest marks ever awarded.

As well a recording as a solo artist and with Common Ground Rachel has also completed the soundtrack recording for the BBC Radio 4 drama Underground which was written by Cornish writer Nick Darke; known for his work with Kneehigh Theatre. In 2001 Rachel also arranged and performed the title track for the feature film Bitter Sweet.
