Strictly Come Dancing, comments made to Craig Kelly, BBC One, 7 November 2009

Publication date: 11 November 2009

Complaint

We've received some complaints from viewers who were unhappy with Alesha Dixon's comments to Craig after his dance on Strictly Come Dancing.

The BBC's response

No offence was intended by Alesha's, or indeed any of the other judges' comments to Craig; she was simply trying to find a way of expressing what she felt was incorrect with his dance and comparing him with a contestant, that in her view, should not have left the competition.

The judges' role is to judge as they see fit and offer their personal and professional opinions which viewers will not always agree with - which is why the format allows the audience a 50% control of the outcome.
