Ask The Make Shift transcript
This event took place Monday 21st January, 2002
The Make Shift
The Make Shift presenters Michael Underwood and Sophie McDonnell, joined us for a Live Chat

Question from Digitally Tuned: Hi Guys! Were you two ever creative when you were a kid? :)

Sophie: I really liked art at school.

Michael: I liked art, but I wasn't brilliant at it. I loved doing it though.

Question from Hayley: What have you liked making best on the show?

Sophie: The party popper I think, I'm going to make some for my birthday party next week.

Michael: I loved the plaster cast and the special effects makeup, it's coming up in a few weeks.

Question from Alfie: If you were invisible for the day, who would you spy on?

Michael: Good question. A film star I think, what do they do? I reckon they just sit at home.

Sophie: Madonna, to see how she does her make up and things. I like her.

Question from Jodie: If you had to make something for your hero, what would you make?

Sophie: The knickerbocker glory, you could make that as a present. It's coming up on the programme soon.

Michael: The intruder alarm, as if they're a hero it would be helpful.

Question from Sian: Sophie, how does being a presenter compare to being a pop star?

Sophie: I loved being in Precious and travelling, but I do like presenting because I get to work with Michael!

Question from Alex: Have you ever made a mistake making something on TV?

Sophie: (laughs) not often, because we get time to practice!

Michael: She's lying. She was little miss tidy, whereas I throw things everywhere. Things did go wrong though. I'm all fingers and thumbs for some of the makes.

Question from Anita: If you had to trick someone with the sympathy plaster cast, who would you trick?

Sophie: My Mum, because she's always asking me how I am and stuff. She'd be very upset.

Michael: I don't like putting the rubbish out so I'd get out of that with it.

Question from Danny: Who is your dream date?

Sophie: Brad Pitt I think, he hasn't met me yet!

Michael: Sophie McDonnell obviously. If she wasn't available then Meg Ryan, I'm a big fan of hers. Nice eyes.

Question from Kirsty: Michael, which do you prefer, presenting CBBC or being on The Make Shift?

Michael: Good question. They're really different. When I'm on CBBC I've got a silly costume on or we're talking about the programmes so it's different to being on one. I get the best of both worlds.

Question from Bob: If you could make a plane and fly to anywhere in the world, where would you fly?

Sophie: Back to Marbella where I've just been for the weekend.

Michael: I haven't been to many places, but I had a great time in Los Angeles. Santa Monica was beautiful.

Question from Stephen, Birmingham: Sum up The Make Shift in one word?

Sophie: Fantastic!

Michael: Simple .... no not me! I'll go with Sophie.

Question from Harriet: In a film of your life, who would you want to play you?

Sophie: Good question Harriet. I think Nicole Kidman is quite like me so she could be me.

Michael: Ewan McGregor I think, he'd be good.
