From Michelle Martin: If you could liken yourself to one of today's top footballers, who would it be and why?

Mark Lawrenson: That's almost an impossible question. My idols would have been people like Bobby Moore. It looks like Rio Ferdinand has the potential to be a real world class defender.

From Nick1: Do you think the speed and physical nature of the Premiership reduces the number of flair/creative players that England produces?

Mark Lawrenson: No. If you look at England, Dyer, Beckham, Gerrard, they're all flair players and outstanding players. They have got stronger and fitter. Football teams come in cycles - maybe England have just started their cycle in terms of having a good side. It looks like that at the moment.

From west_ham_lad: Would you ever go back into coaching?

Mark Lawrenson: The easy answer to that is no. I enjoy what I do and I'm at the games live so it's great. I get to spend time with my little one too, which is great. I get to see them grow up.

From Terry: Who was the best player you played with at club and country level?

Mark Lawrenson: Kenny Dalglish. Anybody who played with him will tell you he was brushed with genius. He was an absolutely brilliant player.

From jcrennie: £30M for Rio Ferdinand - how much for a 23 year old Alan Hansen now?!

Mark Lawrenson: When you get players and build the team, you overpay for one of them. Maybe they've overpaid a little bit. Hansen would be more than Rio to be honest with you. I think the transfer market is calming down a bit now. The top 20%, the wages will go up, and all the rest will come down.

From Cheryl: Who, in Mark's opinion, should be in the England squad that isn't?

Mark Lawrenson: Nobody. If you cast your mind back to the manager picking the England squad for the World Cup, there wasn't really a case for anybody who wasn't included.
