iPresenter Lorraine: Hello, and welcome to tonight’s EastEnders Live Chat with Jill Halfpenny.

Question from Liam, Falmouth: Have you enjoyed the storyline involving you and Phil and would you like to stay in EastEnders?

Jill Halfpenny: Hello Liam. I've very much enjoyed it, it's really challenging and exciting. Yes, I would like to stay as long as they want me. It's been nice to be given the responsibility to be given a big storyline so good and working with Steve, as he's so good.

Question from Kirsty Corbishley: Which soap do you like best working in, Coronation Street as Rebecca or in EastEnders as Kate?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Kirsty. They were both very different and Kate I do enjoy more because she's a stronger woman and she says what she thinks. Rebecca was more vulnerable and she was in utter turmoil most of the time. It's great for me to have variety all the time.

Question from Donna: How did you first become an actress, did you got to drama classes and study it, or was it just luck to be an actress, I really want to become an actress but I don’t know where to start, any advice, P.S. and ur a really good actress xxx

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Donna. Thanks for the compliment! I started dancing when I was really young, which led on to doing musicals. I got an agent at 12 then did Byker Grove, then went to drama school. I did my exams too. I did it by the book really. Everybody is different. A lot of people don't train. As with any trade, go and get a bit of training, why not. It's great to have that back-up.

Question from Andy, Bristol: What's the oddest thing about being on the Square after being used to seeing it only on TV?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Andy. The oddest thing is that it's really small, that hits you when you first get there. It's almost like a little Lego land!

Question from smoody20: What's it like to be part of such a big storyline that has run for a while now?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Smoody. It's great being involved in it and hopefully it's one that people are enjoying. It's nice to be given that opportunity, to be involved in such a big story.

Question from ilovejill: Hi Jill what is Phil like as a person? Is he like his character?

Jill Halfpenny: Hiya, no he's not like his character. He's great fun, we have a giggle on set. He's played Phil for so long now so you only got a few sides of him and in this storyline you'll see a softer and maybe more charming side of him. You'll see him melt a bit in the next few weeks I think, which is quite touching to watch.

Question from alan burke, London: Me & my girlfriend are sure you used to be in Bykergrove - If so who did you play?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Alan. I played Nicola Dobson, best friends with a girl called Donna. I eventually had the whole family. Don't know if you remember it or not.

Question from Edd: When you were told that you were going to be an undercover policewoman, what did you think?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Ed. I thought it was fantastic. When I first joined, I didn't know that I was going to be an undercover cop, they kept it quiet from me too! I was taken into the office and told I wasn't a manicurist! It was really exciting. What would be more exciting, a manicurist or the cop? The cop every time!

Question from L8ser: What's the funniest thing that has happened on set?

Jill Halfpenny: Nothing really... I corpse all the time. It's when me and Steve are giggling and can't stop laughing. The other day, I had a close-up and walk into a room and look at Steve, and he was pulling faces when I turned around. He always looks innocent and pretends it's not him! I don't grass him up to the director though.

Question from danielle4joel: What type of music do you like?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Danielle. I like a broad variety but I'm quite old fashioned - Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin - I'd happily listen to that for hours on end. I do like my pop though, I do like a bit of a boogie!"

Question from Mark74: Jill, u are gorgeous. Did you ever think you would be a glamorous soap star when you were young?

Jill Halfpenny: Hi Mark! I don't think I did really think about it. EastEnders was just cocknies when I was growing up - you tended to have a much smaller cast and it never changed. The turnover now is a lot quicker.
