TOTP Host: Hello, and welcome to tonight’s live chat with David Sneddon.
Question from Kelly: So how’s it feel to be a star?
David Sneddon: It's pretty cool. The best thing is recording my own music. The perks
are cool too, like the flat and the car.
Question from Charlotte: What’s your new single all about?
David Sneddon: Don't ask me! I wrote it when I was at school. I was skiving one day.
I went to a cafe and there was an old guy who looked really depressed. It's about asking him
what was wrong with him. That's the only one I've written like that. Most of the time I
compose at the piano.
Question from Zak: Before Fame Academy, what was the biggest audience you’d ever
performed in front of?
David Sneddon: I used to be part of a youth theatre. There was an anti-drugs campaign
and I was asked to do a song as part of the show. There were 10,000 people there. That was
when I was about 17.
Question from Harry: do u think u deserved to win Fame Academy?
David Sneddon: Yes! I never ever thought I was going to win. When it came to the last
night that was the first time I thought I might win. Afterwards, I was really proud of
myself for getting there because I was criticised at the beginning. I put a lot of hard work
in. If Sinead had won I would have said she'd have deserved it. We all had different
attributes. If you sit in a room next to Lemar the hairs on your head stand on end.
Question from Christine: What was the one most important lesson you learned at The
Fame Academy?
David Sneddon: To believe in myself. There were a lot of times when you're being
criticised. When that happens you just have to have total self belief. I've also learned to
go out drinking with Kevin Adams. He's a scary man! He can drink and he doesn't let you fall
behind. He's a big man, you know.
