What is migration? What are we trying to do?
What is the design refresh?
Why have we developed a new version of the programme pages?
When does this happen?
What do I need to do?

I have programme pages with no extra 'halo' content - what do I need to do?
I have a large 'built' site - what do I need to do?
I have programme pages with additional pages - what do I need to do?
I have programme pages with banners only - what do I need to do?
My programme TXs in a couple of months time, how do I get my site set up?
Can I put a PDF up?
Can the programme pages be viewed on a mobile?
How does 'Recommendations: You might also like...' work?
What can I do if I have issues with my programme in the new design?
What if I need out of hours support?
To transfer all Vision programmes to the new, improved design.
This design refresh is the next step in implementing Vision programme support strategy, namely:
To address issues of design and navigation.
It has started. Over the few months we will be migrating key programmes. Your programme pages superuser will be in touch to explain when.
We will migrate all programmes by channel before Christmas in the following order - Three, Four, Two and One .
For programmes that have a complex, bespoke site or that are in their TX window we will exempt them from my migration to the new design until we have resolved any issues. If you would like to opt your programme out of the migration plan please contact your superuser.
It depends on what your current programme page looks like. See the options below.
If your pages have images, clips and copy only they will automatically have the new designs applied (no banner, no larger site, no ancillary pages).
Your pages will automatically have the new designs applied.
If the programme has been identified as one to have the new designs and if the pages are maintained by a dedicated multiplatform team then they will be trained in the new publishing tools and they will manage the change. If there is no team available then a central team will do the work.
If not selected for redesign the sites will have their content migrated to programme pages and their Top Level Domain redirected if possible. If this is impossible some sites will be badged as "no longer being updated" others may be removed. Site owners will be contacted before any work is carried out.
They will be re-made for programme pages v2 by the central migration team. For info please contact your superuser. These can include character and presenter pages.
If the programme is current, repeating, or coming back, AND fits the new criteria for a banner a new banner will be created.
Contact your superuser to discuss your requirements.
Yes send it to your superuser to add to the BBC Downloads server.
Yes they can. The new design also has a mobile view that can display channel or bespoke branding. Example is Angry Boys.
It looks for programmes with the same channel, then uses genre and subgenre info, which comes from P4A and is construed from the billings info. See the list of genres used.
Examples:
'Is Breast Best? Cherry Healey Investigates' = Factual, Families & Relationships, Health & Wellbeing. Recommendations are:
'Lee Nelson's Well Good Show' = Comedy, Sketch. Recommendations are:
The plan is for recommendations to be developed further in future, for instance to explore how best we should offer personalised and social recommendations.
The new design highlights a number of issues that were masked by the old design. These generally originate from the information that is extracted from the billings information for episodes originally submitted by the production teams of the images that accompany the episodes. Both can be amended.
