Changes to Knowledge Commissioning
Commissioning in the Knowledge genre has changed, and eight new commissioning editor roles have been created. The new roles have amended remits, and now commission from both independent and inhouse producers.

The nine new positions are:
- an overall Head of Knowledge Commissioning. This post has been filled by Emma Swain.
- eight commissioning editors for:
- Documentaries - Charlotte Moore
- Features & Formats, BBC One and BBC Two - Jo Ball
- Features, Formats and Specialist Factual on BBC Three - Harry Lansdown
- Music and Events - Jan Younghusband *starts early September
- History and Business - Martin Davidson
- Science and Natural History - Kim Shillinglaw
- Arts - Mark Bell
- Religion (an integrated role based in Manchester) - Aaqil Ahmed *starts 6th July

The Genre teams commission all the programmes for the channels. The entire process - editorial, business, finance and delivery - is handled within the genre teams.
