CBeebies
Learning Through Play.

CBeebies is the BBC's tri-media brand for young children, offering television, radio and web services on all digital platforms. CBeebies offers a rich portfolio of content on its website, through its television outlets and via radio on BBC Radio 7. Therefore we are a multi-platform commissioner not just a television commissioner.

The CBeebies digital television channel (on satellite, cable and Freeview) is on-air from 06.00 until 19.00 daily. The CBeebies Channel is simulcast on the CBeebies website and our content is available across weekday mornings on BBC Two.

CBeebies radio is available on BBC Radio 7 (via a DAB radio or your digital TV set top box) between 0500–0800 daily. But don't worry if you miss it, because you can catch up via our website (up to seven days later!).

The CBeebies web services are 24/7 and overall the website is the 4th most visited the BBC has... but the most loved!

CBeebies is a safe and trusted environment, driven by action, humour and excitement!

Our Aim

We want to deliver the world's finest content to young children, putting interactive and on-demand at the heart of what we offer them. Our purpose is to encourage active play and inspire creativity and imagination across our platforms; on-air and online.

"Learning through play" is our motivating philosophy.

CBeebies operates a rolling commissioning system

CBeebies operates a rolling commissioning system and will be accepting proposals throughout the year.

Commissioning briefs will be published on this website. All ideas must be submitted via e-commissioning as usual.

CBeebies radio will continue to commission in rounds. The next round is expected to open in early 2010. Standalone ideas for CBeebies radio must be submitted via the RAP system.
