How to download a Compliance Form

This section provides information and advice on how to download a compliance form for all recorded programmes commissioned for broadcast on the BBC’s linear television channels.

Getting Started

  • You can download the Microsoft Word template from the link in the right-hand navigation bar. First save the file locally.
  • This form was last revised in April 2008. Please ensure you remove any old versions of the compliance form if stored on any local drives and replace it with this version (Version 3). NB this form includes an 'Export Data' button at the bottom which is for BBC use only and allows instant up-loading of data into the BBC Compliance Manager database.
  • Producers without access to Microsoft Word can receive a fax copy of the form to complete and return by contacting the appropriate BBC Delivery Team.

Opening The Form

If you have the security settings for Macros in Microsoft Word set to “High” you will not be able to complete the Compliance form. This section will help you to check and change your Macro security settings.

Open Word and go to the “Tools” menu, select “Macro” and then “Security”. These screens are from Word XP but Word 2000 is very similar.

That will give you the following screen. “Medium” should be selected. If you cannot change this setting you will need to ask your IT department to do it for you.  image003.gif

With "Medium" security set the following dialog box will appear when you open the Compliance form. Click on "Enable Macros" to use the form.

You can also download an Excel version of the form for MAC users in the downloads section of this page.
