Proteus is a system that will eventually be a "one stop shop" for all programme-related information for BBC Radio. The commissioning process is already managed in Proteus.
This page includes information for pitching ideas to the National Network Radio Stations:
Radio 1/1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, Radio 4/4Extra, Radio 5 Live/Sports Extra, Radio 6 Music and the Asian Network.
If you wish to pitch to the World Service please click here for more information.
If you wish to pitch to BBC Wales please click here for more information.
If you wish to pitch to BBC Radio Cymru please click here for more information.
If you wish to pitch to BBC Scotland or Radio Nan Gaidheal please click here for more information.
When a BBC radio network invites programme proposals it will require them to be submitted in Proteus unless otherwise specified. Any independent production company must therefore have access to Proteus before it can submit a programme proposal. Existing users can access Proteus via the Proteus login page.
If you are a new supplier, you will need to sign up to the Radio Independent suppliers list. Please fill in a Pro Forma (available in the downloads section of this page) and send to Radio Commissioning Enquiries (020776 51865) where you will also be set up a login to Proteus if your company doesn't already have one assigned.
Please let us know in good time if you require a Proteus login for submitting in a commissioning round as a Proteus login takes up to a week to be assigned after your initial request has been sent through.
The Proteus Terms & Conditions of usage are also included in the downloads section of the site, you will need to agree to them before a login can be issued.
Answers to these, and more FAQs, can be found in the downloads section of this page on the right hand side.
If you have any other problems or issues while using Proteus, please contact Proteus Support on 020-7765-5937 who will be able to assist you.
