The BBC World Service aims to be the world's first choice amongst international broadcasters. We want to inspire people and illuminate their lives. Our programmes need to support - and build on - our reputation for being authoritative, impartial and accurate.
With your help we can achieve all of this... and make the most of our unique ability to bring the world together, making connections and helping listeners make sense of the world. We seek impact and originality. Results of our Spring 2010 Commissioning Round are now available.
How to submit ideas to World Service
Independent producers should submit ideas via a registered independent company.
World Service has a Registered Suppliers list of Independent Production Companies. We cannot consider ideas from companies not on this register. If you wish to join the Suppliers List please contact vanessamorris&karenhowe@bbc.co.uk. Only companies with significant production experience will be considered.
The Commissioning Process
The World Service Offers Round takes place twice a year (spring and autumn). Slots and budgets are described in the Invitation to Bid which is published on this website prior to each offers round.
However, if you have an idea that you think the World Service may be interested in outside of the Spring and Autumn offers round, you can send a short paragraph to wscommissioning@bbc.co.uk and we shall respond accordingly.
