BBC Radio 1 Xtra Specialist Tender - May 2012

BBC Radio 1Xtra is seeking applications from Independent Production companies to take on the production of a number of specialist music strands.

The production of the following shows are being offered out to tender:

Bundle 1

  •  R n’ B Show  4 hours  Monday  2200 – 0200
  •  UKG   4 hours  Tuesday 2200 – 0200
  •  Drum & Bass  4 hours  Wednesday 2200 – 0200

Bundle 2

  • Dancehall  4 hours  Thursday 2200 – 0200
  • Hip Hop  4 hours  Friday  2200 – 0200
  • Afrobeats  4 hours  Sunday  2200 -  0200


The following is being offered for tender as part of Radio 1Xtra’s Window of Creative Competition

  •  Seani B   2 hours  Sunday  0500 - 0700

 

We invite applications from all Independent Production companies who can clearly demonstrate relevant experience and expertise. All Independent Production Companies should be registered on the A&M Indie database.

The brief is available in the downloads section of the page and lays out the detail of what is required in the tender, how the process will be managed and the timetable for doing so.

The relevant programme proposal(s) must be submitted via Proteus only and it should cover all the points outlined in the brief.

 

  • Tender Document published May 25th 2012
  • Closing Date for submissions: 1200 on June 21st 2012
  • Those shortlisted will be informed by June 28th
  • Shortlisted companies will be asked to present their proposals in person w/c July 23
  • Decisions made by July 27th
  • New productions start September 3rd
