Comedy Playhouse Season: New Commissions

Shane Allen, Controller of Comedy Commissioning, has announced three new 30 minute specials for a Comedy Playhouse season on BBC One.

The energetic studio sitcom Miller’s Mountain (working title) follows the antics of a group of Mountain Rescue volunteers. Produced by BBC In-house Comedy Production and written by Donald McLeary, the Director is Matt Lipsey and the Executive Producers are Mark Freeland, Ewan Angus, Steven Canny and Saurabh Kakkar.

Hugh Dennis and Neil Morrissey star in Over To Bill, a sitcom pilot following fired BBC Weatherman Bill Onion (Dennis). Written and Directed by Doug Naylor for Baby Cow/Three Feet Productions. 

Monks, a BBC In-house Comedy Production, sees Gary (Seann Walsh) turning to a life of sacred solitude to avoid a stint in prison. Written by Danny Robins, the Producer is Alex Walsh-Taylor and the Executive Producer is Pete Thornton.
