At BBC Entertainment Commissioning, we’re really keen to hear from new voices in the industry. We want to support and nurture emerging Entertainment talent and give them opportunities to shine.
So, we’re inviting pitches for Entertainment formats from individuals who are Assistant Producers or below, either working for or affiliated with any one of our current suppliers or potential suppliers, either in-house or at indies. These can be comedy entertainment, format entertainment or fact ent ideas and should be for BBC One or BBC Three. They must be conceived, submitted and pitched by one individual, although that person can be supported by their peers in this process.
You must be working for, or affiliated with, a production house in order to enter this initiative. You will need to submit your entry with the approval of the Creative Director or Head of Production, and on behalf of the company.
The brief is the same as the one we have recently launched to all our suppliers, around ONE BEST IDEA. We are only asking for one submission per organisation for this scheme.
There are two phases to the scheme:
In February 2013 the production house from which the winner comes will receive further funding for taking that winning idea to the next stage of development.
Good luck, and we look forward to seeing your ideas.
Many thanks,
Mark Linsey, Controller BBC Entertainment Commissioning
