Result of Fast Formats Initiative announced

BBC Entertainment Commissioning has announced that Ben Rogers from Tiger Aspect has been awarded development funding from the BBC’s Fast Formats initiative.

This brand new scheme, initiated by Mark Linsey, Controller of BBC Entertainment, was designed to encourage young, upcoming creatives, either BBC in-house or from indies, to submit ideas for new Entertainment programming.

The BBC invited junior development creatives (at Associate Producer level or below) to submit Comedy Entertainment, Format Entertainment or Factual Entertainment ideas for either BBC One or BBC Three.

From these submissions, 10 individuals were invited to the BBC for a face-to-face pitch, and Ben was awarded £15,000 to further develop this and other ideas for BBC Three.

Mark Linsey says: “Ben faced some extremely tough competition from an impressive and enthusiastic field. However, we were excited by his witty and original idea for BBC Three. I look forward to seeing his idea being further developed.”

Ben says: "It's so exciting to be given the opportunity to develop my ideas further. It's a wonderful scheme, and I can't wait to work with the Beeb on bringing my show to life."
