Comedy Shuffle: Thurs 22 NovThe host: Lucy Montgomery The star of BBC Three's Titty Bang Bang, Cambridge Footlights graduate Lucy Montgomery began her comedy career at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of comedy trio Population:3 performing The Elephant Woman, The Wicker Woman and Gladiatrix. She was also a regular member of the Ealing Live! sketch team. She graduated to TV as a roving reporter on Channel 4's Friday Night Project, and providing voiceovers for Paramount Comedy's Badly Dubbed Porn and BBC Three's Live At Johnny's. On Radio 4, she has appeared on such comedy shows as The Department, Museum of Everything and The Casebook of Milton Jones. She has also worked as an associate producer and scriptwriter in TV and radio, where her credits include The Big Breakfast, Gaytime TV, Ri:se and Swinging. Studio guests Colin and Fergus These two young chaps are Writer's Guild Award-winners for 2004, and are fast making a name for themselves as a double act with great chemistry. Quick and clever without being smug, they often play on the 'are they or aren't they' schtick in their many sketches and comedy characters. Look at this! They're even on MySpace. School of Comedy In this age of Asbos, hoodies and teenage gang warfare it's probably illegal to encourage youngsters to swear and be rude in front of adults, but this is exactly what the grown-ups behind School of Comedy plan to do. Billed as 'adult sketch comedy performed by 12-to-16-year-olds', they can make for shockingly funny watching - as you can see for yourself in this clip from the show (contains strong language). Fat Tongue Sketch group Fat Tongue were nominated for the if.comEddie Best Newcomer Award 2006 and were last year's big discovery at Edinburgh. Sophie Black, Seb Cardinal and Dustin Demri-Burns write and perform a unique brand of sketch comedy which enjoys a consistently rapturous reception. They create a warped world in which Hollywood stars glass each other in Faliraki, public school backpackers travel round Middle Earth on their gap year and designer couples adopt babies with hues to compliment their wardrobes. Their material is clever and original but accessible and fun at the same time. They've been compared to Reeves and Mortimer, The League of Gentlemen and Leigh Francis and were described by the Sunday Times as "a real discovery" and (alongside if.comEddie main award nominees We Are Klang) "the best of this year's sketch shows". Not too shabby then. Nick Mohammed Nick is a skilled and energetic character comedian, writer and magician. He has just returned from the Edinburgh Festival where he staged an acclaimed original one-man character comedy show at The Pleasance. Nick will reprise this show at London's Soho Theatre later in the year. Simon Brodkin Simon Brodkin is one of the country's most exciting new comedians, with a huge talent for creating and portraying an array of instantly recognisable and hilarious characters. Recently his Lee Nelson character, a loveable teenage yob, has been taking the stand-up scene by storm.
