Darth Maul

Details, details, details. It’s all in the details. Here’s a few you might have missed from episode 6.
  • A man walks into the pub wearing a painted face like Darth Maul’s in The Phantom Menace. Peter Serafinowicz who plays Garry was the voice of Darth Maul.

  • When the pub is showing the football on the big screen there are a number of signs in the background a lot of which can’t be seen until after the pub has been trashed. The signs include :

  • No punching, no fighting, no hats.
    No Manchester United fans.
A broken sign which reads : Do not break this sign.
  • When Lovely Susan teaches Barry and Garry how to talk to women Barry is made to write lines on one of the pub’s blackboards.
The first time he is made to write : I must stop talking about sport.
The second time he is made to write : I must stop quoting The Simpsons.
The third time he is made to write : I must stop explaining how jokes work in threes.
The sequence itself is a parody of the opening credits of The Simpsons
  • When Lovely Susan shows the boys the ladies toilets, the sequence echoes The Cook, The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover. The music parodies Michael Nyman’s soundtrack of the same film.

  • The pub sign : Initially the pub is called The Punch and Face. Later it becomes The Cuddle and Hug.

  • Susan shows the lads the toilets
