Actor and impressionist Jan Ravens discovered comedy at Cambridge University's Footlights society, becoming that comic institution's first female president.
She came to public prominence as one of the voices behind Spitting Image's latex caricatures, going on to appear on Alexei Sayle's Stuff and in Simon Brett sitcom No Frills, before taking on the role of Janet Grimley in ITV's 70s-inspired sitcom The Grimleys.
Her talents as an impressionist have kept her in constant demand and she has appeared on everything from 2DTV to Alastair McGowan's Big Impression.
She is best known for her work on Radio 4 and BBC TV impressions show "Dead Ringers", where she plays all the female roles covering everything from Thora Hird to Madonna and Gillian McKeith to Fiona Bruce.
She has also appeared in straight roles on stage and in programmes including Midsomer Murders.
In 2006 she took part in Strictly Come Dancing.
