Dave Gorman

Dave Gorman

Born in 1971 in Stafford, Dave Gorman studied mathematics at Manchester University.

Moving into comedy writing, in 1996 he contributed scripts to Radio 1's Alan Parker's 51 Minutes of Truth and the following year picked up work on TV series The Mrs Merton Show and The Fast Show.

While also gigging as a stand-up comic, a bet with flatmate Danny Wallace turned into a life-changing moment, as he set out to find as many people as possible who shared his name.

The quest resulted in a stage show - Are You Dave Gorman? which span-off into a TV series and book.

He followed this up with Dave Gorman's Important Astrology Experiment, slavishly obeying  the advice of his horoscope over a 40-day period' and Dave Gorman's Googlewhack Adventure.

Gorman hosts Genius on Radio 4 and is a regular panellist on Rob Brydon's Annually Retentive.
