  Meet: Henry Naylor

Henry Naylor

Henry Naylor
Henry Naylor has denied breaking-up with Zara Phillips, daughter of Princess Anne - despite shunning her at a recent showbiz party. At the Beaufort Polo club he conspicuously did not talk to the Royal beauty, and spent most of the time eating vol-au-vents.

When asked to comment about the princess, he said: 'There is no split. Definitely not. If I seem a little bit distant with Zara - it's because I've never met her. I only got into this party, because my mate bet me a fiver.'

Observers said things obviously hadn't gone well between the couple as they arrived at the function separately. Zara entering through the front door, Henry through a gap in the fence.

Friends of the comedian say several factors have conspired to keep them apart. 'He just doesn't mix in her circles. And besides, she's royal - and would probably find him a bit of a pleb.'

When we cornered the Royal beauty, and questioned her, she looked awkward. Was it because she was upset over the twists and turns of her love-life? 'No, it's the vol-au-vents - they are making me windy' she quipped. 'Cor, that was a good one,' she laughed, as she cup-caked our reporter.
