Doco to examine the business of comedy
BBC THREE is to take a look at the business of comedy, with a fly-on-the-wall documentary about a stand-up company.
The one-hour show, A Funny Business, promises to take a look at 'the sometimes chaotic, sometimes confrontational - but never dull' daily life of The Comedy Club, which promotes venues and manages comedians.
And, they say, it offers a look into what it really takes to stay afloat in 'one of the world's most cutthroat and fickle industries'.
Dai4 Films shadowed owner Ian Franklin, his staff and his comedians for four months to capture the inner workings of his company, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year.
A Funny Business airs on BBC THREE, 10.30pm next Thursday, August 3, the day the Edinburgh Festival Fringe starts its previews.
