Good God, since when did everyone become so high and mighty? You guys are from the country that spawned Benny Hill and you're whining about immature TV comedy? It takes so much hubris to pretend this kind of thing isn't funny. Go to hell, it was hysterical.
dont be so harsh tom
tom cruise should have seen the funny side in the water prank
Ducatipeg
I don't agree with violence, but if anyone deserved a knuckle sandwich it was that guy, Tom, get some heel extensions for next time....
Facial Tic
This sort of "comedy" - without wit, originality or talent - shows total contempt for the viewer. Who do these sad b******s sleep with to get on telly in the first place?
seb
anyone other then the "cruisester" and I wouldnt have laughed. but I hate cruise with a passion.
Ketamine_junkie
Tom Cruise might be n annoying little man and an unlikely action hero but being pranked when least expecting it opening one of the biggest films of recent times is not funny. What is funny is that several years ago Tom and his bodyguards chased a mugger in London. The woman who was mugged reported to the Police "two big guys and a 12yr old boy chased after him". That's funny.
Blue boy
Not very amusing, not even Tom's pathetic whingeing. I am surprised however that in this day and age of security that this bloke was not immediately surrounded and thrown to the floor. Suppose he was some kind of bigger nutter and the water had been replaced by acid, would it still be funny
Blowfly Pete
Tom Cruise make Katie happy cos of marrying. This is good. But tom cruise has water in face. This is not good. The world is full of good and the not good. We must work together to build better future.
Aaron
This show isn't "from the makes of According To Bex", is it?
CarminetheWolf
I thought the incident was childish, but the sight of Cruise repeatedly asking: "Why did you do that?" was worthy of a chuckle as there are so many of his films that have elicited the same reaction from me from start to finish.
BLONDIE
I thought this was feeble. I mean to think a grown man would think it's funny to squirk someone with a microphone. I do however think Tom over reacted after all he still looked as yummy as ever.

I didn't think it was such a big deal a first but after reading the blog i totally agree with Steve! Preach it brother! It's just pointless and unfunny and besides there are better ways to Attack Tom Cruise! Keep up the fight Steve!

Bit of a boring comedy routine ... squirting water in the face of a celebrity. However, I had no self control and had to PMSL when John Prescott "chinned" an egg throwing demonstrator. Next time Maverick, stop yapping, stand on a bigger soap box and give him a slap. Now that's reality TV.
AK
Kind of behaviour expected from 5 year old kids. Totally unfunny.
joan
Sorry TomKat, but most of us in the States agree that the incident was timely and appropriate.
Mr Blobby
I find your comments highly offensive. See you in court!
Liz
I agree that as comedy this is an insult to many of the talented people who never get a chance to be on TV as this show will, however, watching Tom Cruise and his sickening publicity-seeking antics with Katie Holmes afterwards : that man needed a soaking. Also, he completely overreacted. He had his little underlings to mop his brow so he should have calmed down!
Rod
The Noel did stoop to squirting water on someone during an NTV once. He got them to come close to their telly/the camera, then something in the telly squirted them. Oh, the neat-bearded hilarity.
Martin
If you're suggesting Dennis Pennis and Ali G is "clever set-up" and somehow a higher form than what happened to Tom Cruise, then you're showing a pomposity that deserves a water soaking.
daniel
from a simplistic point of view.... a masterpiece. but thats where the good points end! what was the point of making him look wet? isn't that what katie holmes is for?
Nick
Bring back Chris Morris - all is forgiven
Rydgemont
Another sad example of the dumbing down of Channel 4. How are we to stamp out crazes such as "happy slapping" when morons like this endorse such behaviour?
Tone Def
It would have been funny if Sooty had done it.
Squeaky
Well said Steve. It's one thing deflating 'sleb' pomposity and self-importance with a clever set-up, but this kind of thing is just pointless deliquency - and it's not even faintly humourous!
Corky Whicker
Physical comedy is an ancient form of entertainment predating language itself. It has taken many forms over the years - from serious injuries caught on camera to traditional high school bullying. But it's never less than hilarious.
