New series starts tonight on BBC Radio 4.

Went to the recording of the first episode of Armando Iannucci's new radio show, Charm Offensive, last night along, as it turned out, with about half of the Comedy blog crew.

Armando proudly displays his starfish.

Guests were Clive Anderson, Phill Jupitus, a dead starfish and John Oliver, who you've probably never heard of but held his own against his better-known co-panellists.

Unusually for a radio recording, it took quite a bit longer than an hour and a half to get 30 minutes in the can; though the team were on form with almost all their election-based shenanigans.

It should all work out fine in the edit...
