Terms and Conditions
Contributors must provide the following details: name, e-mail address, title of clip, and URL of where clip can be found. The BBC will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this event. Please see the BBC’s Privacy Policy: BBC Privacy Policy.
Clips must be 15 seconds - no longer and no shorter.
You can only send video clips by using the form provided found on http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/funny_in_15.shtml and submitting a URL which links to your video.
Your video clip must not use music. If your video contains music it will not be used.
The material of the video clip must be suitable to be broadcast by the BBC. Clips must not contain defamatory, obscene, offensive, or any other unsuitable material. Please see the BBC’s editorial guidelines for further information: BBC Editorial Guidelines.
Only videos posted on third party sites will be accepted. Videos sent through the post or as attachments in email will not be accepted.
All video clips must be your own original work. They must not infringe the rights of any other party. The BBC accepts no liability if contributors ignore these rules and contributors agree to fully indemnify the BBC against any claims by any third party arising from any breach of these rules.
No breaking the law – that includes illegal downloads.
Clips with secret filming will not be accepted. If it can be reasonably interpreted that the people featured in the video are not aware of being filmed, your video will not be accepted.
If your video features people other than you, those people should be aware they were being filmed and should have the permission of those people. If children under 16 feature, you must have the relevant parental consent.
This is only open to UK residents only.
To enter video clips you must be at least 16 years old.
The decision to show clips online and/or TV will be decided by BBC3 and is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
There will be no fee offered for clips shown online or on TV.
Video clips with advertising cannot be used on bbc.co.uk, therefore contributors may be asked to take down the advertising on the third party around their video clips shown online.
By submitting your video clips you agree to allow the BBC to use the material in any way it wants (including modifying and adapting it for operational and editorial reasons). For more information about contributing to the BBC: User Generated Content FAQs
Copyright in your video clip will remain with youand the permission outlined above is not exclusive, so you can continue to use the material in any way including allowing others to use it.
The Producers do not accept any responsibility for any technical failure or any other problem with any server, internet access or system, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
Contributors will be deemed to have accepted these rules and to agree to be bound by them when submitting their videos.
The BBC, its sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for or malfunction, the post or otherwise which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt.
The BBC has the right to cancel or amend these Terms and Conditions at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion and, if circumstances arise outside its control.
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
