Andy and Maggie are working on the set of a World War 2 holocaust movie.
Despite rubbing shoulders with the star, Kate Winslet, both Andy and Maggie are distracted by romantic opportunities. Maggie is in a record-breaking three week long relationship with a props man while Andy is making moves on Susan, a fellow extra.
Keen to impress, Andy (an atheist) lies about being a Catholic in order to 'get off' with Susan. He pays dearly for that later.
